General Demolition provided the enabling works for the urban landscape addition at the Neo Bankside development.
Project Overview
The Neo Bankside development is in the heart of the Bankside, beside the River Thames and opposite the Tate Modern extension. Neo Bankside comprises 217 newly built residential units, split between four hexagonal pavilions ranging between 12 and 24 storeys. This provides its residents with generous accommodation and stunning views across London.
General Demolition demolished the former Marketing and Sales suite to clear space for an urban garden, designed by Frost Landscapes. The garden space extends the existing landscape from the riverside gardens outside Tate Modern through to Southwark Street.
Despite some challenges, such as working in a densely populated area, General Demolition completed the job successfully. In addition, the final flat-level site included the trees left from the former owners to be re-housed in the new garden space.
Throughout this project, we followed General Demolition’s sustainability policy. As a result, the project achieved an overall score of 95% recyclability. All work carried out was injury-free, on time and within budget.
