General Demolition was contracted to undertake enabling works at Marylebone House ahead of an extensive renovation project to provide over 70,000sqft of modern workspace, with sustainability and wellness placed at the very heart of the redesign.
The scope of work fell well within its capabilities and the considerable emphasis placed on BREEAM was matched by General Demolition’s already well-established good practices.
Surveys and audits identified a considerable amount of good-quality office furniture that could be reused. Working in conjunction with a specialist third-party, many of these items were successfully removed and rehomed in the local area including at local schools.
Additionally, 100% of non-hazardous materials were recycled off-site, including at General Demolition’s recycling facility in Hersham, Surrey.
