Walking over coals

Congratulations to Ellie, our Bid Administrator, for completing a Firewalk, a fundraising event for the North West Surrey Samaritans which was held in Woking on Saturday 21st November 2015.

Firewalking is the act of walking barefoot over a bed of hot wooden coals.  A combination of pine, ash and oak is burnt and then broken down into a smooth red hot path of embers. When it came time to walk on the coals, the fire lane was burning at a core temperature of over 400-600 degrees Fahrenheit.  Walkers showed confidence, purpose, focus, will and determination and experienced without a doubt an inspirational moment.
